Milk Bottle from the Sagtikos Manor, (a Secatogue word meaning ''the snake that hisses'' ), which operated as a dairy farm during WWII. 
The property was originally purchased from the Secatogue Indians in 1692 by Stephanus Van Cortlandt, a former New York City mayor, who built a summer house there in 1697.  
It also hosted George Washington during a presidential tour of Long Island in 1790.  
The property had been owned and maintained since the 1930's by Robert David Lion Gardiner, 91, who owns Gardiner's Island about 90 miles east of Bay Shore.
Sagtikos Manor had been in the Gardiner family for 230 years, and since 1986 it had been held by the nonprofit Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation. It has been on the National Register of Historic Places since the mid-1970's.
