Dottie Herman Overcomes Childhood Trauma and Turned Pain Into Power

On the surface Dottie Herman is one of the richest self-made women in America. As CEO of Douglas Elliman, last year alone she led her team to sell more than $27 billion in real estate. But what you may not know about her…she came from humble beginnings and a painful past. At the tender age of 9 years old, she lost her mother in a tragic car accident. Despite life’s challenges that would have stopped most people, Dottie rose above it all and built an empire, the 4th largest real estate firm in the United States.

Dottie Herman, sat down with Chattic’s Nicole Sawyer to share her story. She reveals how she wants to inspire female entrepreneurs to understand obstacles are not road blocks they are opportunities and her favorite thing to collect is shoes!
